XTC
Vancouver
2008 Canadian National Off-Road Triathlon Championships!
Off-Road Triathlon part
of the Junior Race Series!
The
XTC Vancouver race is a 1500 metre swim, 24k mountain
bike and a 10k trail run. The race is open to all levels,
whether you are a new to off-road triathlon or you are
a pro-athlete. Athletes can compete in the XTC as
an individual or a team.
The
Half XTC is a 750 metre swim, 12k mountain bike and
a 5k trail run. We have modified the mountain bike course
for 2005 to make it more beginner-friendly. Athletes
can compete in the Half XTC race as a team or an individual.
This race is for people seeking a less-demanding off-road
triathlon experience.
Thinking
it would be a great race if you didn't have to swim.
No problem! Check out the duathlon instead! You
can participate in either the half distance or full
distance duathlon.
We
are pleased to announce that the XTC Vancouver is the National Off-Road Triathlon Championships designated by Triathlon Canada. In addition, Half
Distance Off-Road Triathlon is part of the Triathlon
BC Junior Race Series. This if for the 16-19 age group.
Earn points towards the series. Check out
Tri BC for more details.

NEW
RULES WITH TRAITHLON BC FOR ATHLETE CHECK IN (on race
day)!
At
athlete check in you will be required to show picture
identification (drivers license or passport) when
you check in. NO EXCEPTIONS! IF YOU DO NOT HAVE PICTURE
ID YOU WILL NOT RACE. Why, you ask? Triathlon BC,
the Race Organizers and the Event are liable if something
goes wrong and people race under someone elses
name. In order to prevent this, Triathlon BC now requires
ID to be shown so that we know who is racing. You will
be required to show your picture ID and sign a waiver
before you receive your timing chip and get body marked.
Please allow time for this.
Also,
if you are not a member of TRIBC or the Alberta Triathlon
Association (ATA) you will be required to pay the day-of-race
insurance fee of $10. We will have a list of current
TRIBC members as supplied by TRIBC race week. If you
are not a member of TRIBC or ATAT and did not send in
the day-of-race fee with your registration then you
will be required to pay the day-of-race fee as per the
direction we have received from TRIBC. Triathlon membership
numbers from provinces and states other than BC or Alberta
will not be accepted. If you are a member of TRIBC or
ATA do not forget to bring your membership card with
you to package pickup or athlete check in. No card
you pay the fee. No money to pay the fee
you
will not race. There will be no refunds or rollovers
if you are not able to race because you forgot your
picture ID or you do not have race day insurance coverage.
Okay, now that we have all of that out of the way, we
look forward to seeing you September!
