XTC VANCOUVER RUN

10km Run Course - map

XTC Run

There is an Aid Station at the exit of the bike to run transition. From transition you head west across the park towards the gazebo at Buntzen Lake Beach. Cross the road and head up the Energy Trail. You will climb and then flatten out. You will make a right on Buntzen Lake Trail and descend down. Very quickly you will make a left, staying on Buntzen Lake Trail. You will come to a point where you can't go straight and you make a right and head towards the floating bridge. Cross the floating the bridge. There is an Aid Station here. You will head straight up the Diez Vista Trail. You will climb on this until you reach a wooden trail gate. You will make a right at this point onto the Horseshoe Trail.

You will then climb a bit and then descend a bit, then climb a bit. You will then start the switch back down to meet up with the Pumphouse Road. You will make a right on Pumphouse Road and head back towards the floating bridge You will pass by the Aid Station again. You will cross back over the floating bridge and take the same route back to the start/finish area that you came out on. You will do this loop twice. Your turn around will be back by the expo area. You will be marked on your bib with a felt before heading out on your second loop.

The course is a mixture of climbing, descending and flat. There is single and double track trail and open road. Some of the single track trail in the Horseshoe Trail is a bit more technical as it has some loose rock. These sections are not very long, but require extra attention. They are completely runable.
